The Data Architect implements and governs technical data architecture development and provides architectural leadership and guidance to align IT solutions and the development organization with the needs of Cotiviti's Retrieval Operations and the products which it supports. The Data Architect's skills and knowledge must span the Retrieval domain and include all AWS technologies currently used, as well as those which could potentially be used by Cotiviti to enhance its Retrieval platform. The Data Architect must be an expert in data life cycle management from discovery through implementation. Responsible for architecting and implementing (hands on) scalable data services, ensuring their alignment to business needs, and supporting the development team in their implantation. The Data Architect is expected to influence the development organization and provide expertise on data usage, persistence, and management. The Data Architect serves as a mentor and role model through communication, coaching, and driving continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Ability to translate functional requirements and strategies into solution architecture and roadmaps in collaboration with development team members and other architects. * Ability to architect and implement data services that are secure by design * Implement and integrate with AWS services including but not limited to: * * CloudWatch * DynamoDB * EventBridge * Glue * HealthLake * NestJS / NodeJS * OpenSearch * RDS * Restful APIs * S3 * Step Functions * X-Ray * Support the continuous evolution of best practices and standards for cloud development * Coaching/training development team members as necessary to drive proficiency in required development tools * Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual Performance Plan. * Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned. * Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
- Hands on experience with expert knowledge in AWS resources including but not limited to:
- DynamoDB
- RDS
- Glue
- Step Functions
- Lamba
- OpenSearch
- API Gateways
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of experience in at least two IT disciplines (such as data/solution architecture, Technical/Infrastructure architecture, Information/Data Architecture and Business Architecture) in a multitier enterprise environment.
- 5+ years directly leading through architecture and software design
- 5+ years directly development or architecture teams
- 5+ years working in an Agile model, SAFe preferred
- Ability to translate conceptual data models and requirements to logical data models and physical data models
- Ability to apply multiple solutions to business problems
- Prior hands-on experience with multiple database systems
- Prior hands-on experience with greenfield software development
- Ability to estimate the financial impact of architecture alternatives
- Basic knowledge of financial models and budgeting
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills including teamwork, facilitation, coaching, and negotiation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
