Actalent QA Technician in South Chesterfield, Virginia

Job Title: QA TechnicianJob Description

Perform all testing of raw materials and finished products, providing technical support to production and management within the scope of training levels. Observe and obtain samples from running product to check for customer specifications; maintain records and logs of tests, audits, and other quality procedures to ensure availability of accurate and thorough information; collect and report production data to management on a daily shift basis. Review and approve batch records, product files, quality control data, and Certificates of Analysis for the purposes of product release; review job orders and quality check sheets. Provide training to all production employees on quality standards and procedures; document employee quality training records when necessary. Provide assistance to manufacturing personnel regarding quality problems.

Responsibilities

Essential Skills

  • Food safety experience (1 year)

  • Experience in food manufacturing and packaging

  • Quality assurance and quality control skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure

  • Ability to meet deadlines and present in a professional demeanor

  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma

  • Understanding of food grade product rules and storage

  • Experience with any food background , including fast food, if combined with manufacturing and quality experience

Work Environment

Regularly required to stand and use hands and fingers in a repetitive motion. Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach above the head. Occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear. Required to lift a minimum of ten (10) lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus. While performing duties, exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, and fumes or airborne particles. Noise level ranges from normal office levels to loud factory/warehouse levels. Ability to work in temperature conditions between 35 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit; may occasionally exceed 95 degrees Fahrenheit. Shifts: 1st: 7a-3:30p, 2nd: 3p-12:30a, 3rd: 10:30p-7a. Some Saturday work required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00
