Eurofins offers a portfolio of over 200,000 analytical methods to evaluate the safety, identity, composition, authenticity, origin, traceability and purity of biological substances and products.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Histology Technician to join our GLP-compliant laboratory, specializing in the preparation and processing of tissue samples for research and regulatory studies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for tissue trimming, embedding, sectioning, staining, and slide preparation to support toxicology, pharmacology, and biocompatibility testing.This role requires precision, technical expertise, and adherence to laboratory protocols to ensure high-quality data generation for regulatory submissions and scientific research.Key Responsibilities:Tissue Processing & Histology Techniques * Perform gross trimming, embedding, microtomy (paraffin and/or plastic sectioning), and staining of tissue samples. * Utilize routine and special histological stains (H&E, PAS, Masson's Trichrome, etc.) based on study requirements. * Operate and maintain histology laboratory equipment, including microtomes, tissue processors, embedding centers, and slide stainers.Compliance & Documentation (GLP Standards) * Maintain accurate and detailed records of all histology procedures in compliance with GLP and SOPs. * Ensure proper labeling, tracking, and storage of tissue specimens and slides. * Assist in quality control and verification of slide preparation to ensure high histological standards.Collaboration & Laboratory Support * Work closely with pathologists, study directors, and scientist to ensure proper tissue processing and data integrity. * Support laboratory maintenance, inventory management, and equipment calibration.Health, Safety & Regulatory Compliance * Follow biosafety procedures and PPE requirements for handling biological specimens. * Adhere to GLP, OSHA, and other laboratory safety guidelines. * Participate in internal and external audits to ensure regulatory compliance.Qualifications * Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Histotechnology, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field. * Experience: * 1-3 years of experience in histology, pathology, or research laboratories (GLP experience preferred). * Hands-on experience with tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining. * Certifications (Preferred): * HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) certification (or eligibility preferred).Skills & Competencies: * Technical Proficiency - Skilled in histological techniques and laboratory equipment operation. * Attention to Detail - Strong focus on sample integrity, labeling accuracy, and data documentation. * GLP Knowledge - Familiarity with GLP-compliant lab environments, regulatory standards, and quality control. * Time Management - Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects efficiently. * Team Collaboration - Works effectively with pathologists, scientists, and lab personnel in a fast-paced setting.Work Environment & Physical Requirements: * Laboratory setting with exposure to tissue specimens, chemicals, and histology equipment. * Standing for extended periods, using fine motor skills for tissue handling and slide preparation. * Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs occasionally.Additional InformationPosition is full-time, workingMonday-Friday 8am-5pm, some weekend required overtime as needed.
