Tri-City Electric IT Assistant in South Bend, Indiana
Tri-City Group is seeking a dedicated IT Assistant to join our team in South Bend, IN. This position will be acting as a versatile resource for various technology-related tasks and operational support. This is not a traditional IT role but rather a position focused on assisting with technology implementation, electronics, and workflow coordination. Comfort with technology and electronics is a must, and prior technical experience is highly valued. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, highly organized, and adaptable to the needs of the department. Occasional travel may be required to assist the Technology Manager on-site at job sites and other CST locations.
Key Responsibilities General Assistance
Assist with IT equipment organization, setup, maintenance, and replacement.
Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance for electronics and technology as directed.
Help track IT inventory, licenses, and compliance documentation.
User Support
Aid in onboarding new employees, including account and device setup.
Monitor IT support ticket submissions and assist with organizing and escalating unresolved issues.
Project Coordination
Support the Technology Manager with on-site network setups and equipment deployments.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date technology records.
Coordinate with Site Technology Specialists to address on-site technical needs, including setting up and troubleshooting equipment.
Training Content Support
Assist in creating, editing, and managing training materials (e.g., videos, guides) for CST team members.
Ensure that training resources are current and accessible across CST platforms.
Operational Support
Identify opportunities for improving workflows and operational processes.
Ensure compliance with IT policies and security protocols.
Provide feedback and insights to the Technology Manager to support strategy development.
Qualifications
Experience:
1–2 years in a support, administrative, or hands-on role working with electronics or technology.
Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft 365, Smartsheet, and Procore is highly beneficial.
Basic understanding of network equipment, devices, and electronics is a strong plus.
Video editing experience is advantageous but not required.
Skills:
Comfort with technology and electronics is a must.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn new skills.
Ability to set up and troubleshoot basic hardware and software systems.
