    Position Summary

    This position is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, coordination, and evaluation of the purchasing, receiving, shipping and stockroom functions and team. This is a hands-on role which is responsible for planning and superb execution within our fast-paced and dynamic Souderton, PA facility. The Materials Supervisor will provide exceptional leadership to their assigned direct reports, ensuring the team has the necessary skills and performance to meet Ipsen key performance goals.

     

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    - - Plans, organizes, directs, controls, coordinates and implements processes related to inventory control, procurement, receiving and shipping functions to ensure timely completion and support of the production schedule and site inventory plans. - - Organizes, supervises, and directs the work of purchasing, stockroom, receiving and shipping personnel. - - Develops, prepares and improves processes, procedures, and instructions regarding purchasing, stockroom, receiving and shipping systems and procedures. - - Ensures that outsourced components and component materials are available to support the production schedule and spare parts sales orders. - - Oversees the process which identifies and communicates parts/material status including shortages - resolves material problems to minimize downtime and operational delays. - - Drives continuous improvement. Looks for and implements productivity improvements and material cost reductions. Identifies, plans and executes major improvement projects - develops and conducts training on proper procedures, as required. - - Tracks, analyzes, and develops action plans for Materials department KPI's, such as Inventory Turns, Fill Rates, Stock Outs, Cycle Count Accuracy, etc. - - Develops plan and is responsible for oversight on inventory cycle counts. - - Responsible for adhering to all ISO9001 procedures, work instructions and documentation. - - Assist in interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing daily work; appraising performance including taking timely disciplinary actions; addressing complaints and resolving problems. - - Collaborates and coordinates with other Ipsen USA facilities regarding but not limited to purchase orders, receipts, inventory transfers, shipments, transportation, inventory levels and transaction issues.

    Requirements:

    Education/Experience

    - - High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Bachelor's degree or other advanced education strongly preferred. - - Minimum 3-5 years of proven, progressive job-related experience in supervising purchasing, warehousing, inventory, shipping and/or receiving functions. Preference for experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. - - Formal training in continuous improvement methodologies strongly preferred (such as Lean and/or Six Sigma). - - Prior experience with an ERP system/environment is required, Syteline preferred.

     

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

    - - Strong communication skills; verbal, written as well as listening skills. Able to successfully communicate to various levels within the organization. - - Possess strong IT skills (suc as MS Office, ERP, Export Document Software, etc.) - - Possess a high level of professionalism when interacting with employees, management, or outside individuals. - - The successful candidate can manage numerous complex priorities simultaneously, with a hands on approach and style. - - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and successfully juggle competing priorities. - - Possess a high level of attention to detail & accuracy, particularly with detailed shipping protocols. - - Possess strong influencing, problem solving and creative thinking skills. - - Possess strong integrity and ethical standards.
