Actalent Senior Architect in Somerville, New Jersey

Job Title: Senior ArchitectJob Description

You will work with a highly creative, collaborative team dedicated to innovative problem solving and design excellence. We are seeking an energetic self-starter to join us to work on a range of client accounts for retail, healthcare, office, warehouse, mixed-use, and residential projects. Ideal candidates possess experience in the role, are willing and able to be team players. Candidates should be customer service oriented, task-focused, diligent, versatile, and efficient. Being comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously are important qualities of our staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical drawings throughout all phases of a project.

  • Provide experiential and technical knowledge to solve design and construction issues.

  • Communicate priorities to both internal and external project teams.

  • Ensure quality for work products.

  • Develop and enforce CAD/Revit standards.

  • Assist the Principle in preparing project schedule and implementing the project work plan.

  • Interact with outside consultants and agencies.

  • Work with a team on larger projects.

Essential Skills

  • Architectural degree from an accredited university.

  • 10 to 15 years of experience in production and coordination of documents in all phases of architectural practice.

  • Experience in construction is required for more experienced architects.

  • Experience in Commercial, Healthcare, and Industrial architecture. Multifamily experience is a plus.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is a must; Revit is a plus.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects in multiple phases simultaneously.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of CAD and Revit software.

  • Proficient in development and documentation standards for design and construction drawings.

  • Ability to support design efforts and ensure the design intent is followed through all phases.

  • Knowledge of best practices for implementing professional quality drawings.

  • Understanding of technical terminology of the architectural and construction industry.

  • Capability to prepare complex plans, elevations, and details.

  • Thorough knowledge of applicable building codes for independent code analysis and compliance.

  • Ability to review submittals and shop drawings during construction.

  • Effective and professional communication skills both verbally and in writing.

  • Willingness to make decisions and exhibit sound and accurate judgment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00
