POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Kids Korner Coordinator, the Kidz Korner Representative (KKR) establishes relationships with members while providing a safe, pleasant and caring atmosphere for staff, children and their parents. The KKR will use the membership by design concept to build relationships with members and volunteers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Establishes long-term relationships with members; Welcomes parents and children to the room, answers and solves member questions and concerns and learn members’ names and call them by their names
Cares for and monitors children’s well being while in the Kidz Korner room
Initiates age appropriate activities
Maintains cleanliness and disinfects toys and equipment on a daily basis
Follows Kids Korner protocol including dress-code, arrival time, phone usage etc
Is responsible for complying with all Somerset Hills YMCA Policies and Procedures
Adheres and incorporates the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility and educates members about the YMCA mission and goals
Attends trainings, seminars and meetings as required
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Secures own substitute when unable to keep assigned shift
Promotes YMCA events and activities to the members
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires some experience working with infants, toddlers & pre-scholars
Customer Service Experience is preferred, but not required
Must be at least 16 years old
Ability to provide stimulation, security and supervision to a variety of ages is essential
Some high School education or equivalent
Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification, or obtain within 90 days of hire
Current Blood borne Pathogens certification
SH YMCA Child Abuse Prevention Training within 30 days of hire
SH YMCA New Staff Orientation Training within 90 days of hire
