The EADS Group, Inc. Sewage Enforcement Officer (SEO) in Somerset, Pennsylvania

The EADS Group, Inc, is actively seeking a full-time Sewage Enforcement Officer (SEO).  The successful candidate will report to and work primarily from our Somerset, PA office.  Periodic travel to other EADS office locations and remote work sites will also be necessary. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering and enforcing the Pennsylvania Sewage Facilities Act to help ensure proper sewage system installations and compliance. They will review permit applications, conduct inspections, and investigate potential violations related to on-lot sewage systems.

Responsibilities will include performing soil profile evaluations from test pits; performing on-lot percolation tests; preparing technical reports, conducting soil interpretations; processing permit applications; communicating with coworkers, clients, and regulators; and establishing and maintaining professional relationships.

The preferred candidate will have a Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection SEO Certification.  In lieu of a current SEO Certification, candidates having an Associate or Bachelor of Science degree in soil science, agronomy, geology, environmental science, civil engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and the ability to obtain PA DEP SEO certification through the Pennsylvania Clean Water Academy within 1 year will be considered.  Other requirements include; the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., a valid driver's license, and strong organizational and time management skills.
