DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Nurse Aide, your responsibilities will include monitoring and recording vital signs, height, and weight. You will collect specimens such as urine, feces, and sputum. You will assist inmates with basic personal hygiene tasks like hair, oral, and nail care, as well as bathing and dressing. Additionally, your duties include preparing and serving food trays, feeding inmates, and documenting eating habits. You will assist inmates with transfers to bath chairs, toilets, or potty chairs and provide skin care while monitoring for any signs of skin breakdown. Escorting wheelchair-bound inmates to medication lines, dental appointments, and diagnostic tests is also part of your role. Daily tasks involve making beds and changing linens as required. You will also adhere to all infection control procedures and universal health care precautions. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment The Department of Corrections is staffed by three work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. 8-hour shifts include 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, and 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, each with a 30-minute lunch. You will have a 5-day work week with rotating days off. Work schedules are to be determined at the time of hire. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents. Special Requirement:

This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
