HSE Technician I Location: Somerset, NJ Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily support to maintain on-going programs of the department such as stocking of supplies, housekeeping, material waste removal, response to HSE assistance requests. Maintain general consumables for daily operations, such as cleaning supply inventory and tools/PPE required to maintain a safe and healthy environment for all employees.

  • Assist HSE Manager in conducting routine safety training for IVMI employees and outside contractors.

  • Assist with all OSHA, Fire, Life Safety and Environmental audits/inspections as per guidelines and procedures. Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly safety audits/inspections on all related equipment and production areas Document safety inspections, citing dangerous areas or any failures of equipment and recommending corrective procedures.

  • Oversee and maintain all company issued garments accompany technicians during weekly deliveries. Maintain accurate count of garments assigned

  • Assist the HSE Manager in overseeing contracted cleaning of the facility to support IVMI's Hygiene program. Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of both facilities for cleanliness to be proactive with our hygiene policy and determine the need for additional services required. Provide training to the external cleaning staff as needed to maintain the facility hygiene requirements

  • Assist in the review and updates of HSE policies and conduct risk assessments to detect potential hazards and plan precautionary measures.

  • Responsible for the proper organization and storage of hazardous materials awaiting disposal and arranging for disposal per guidelines with the certified hazardous waste disposal and transport company.

  • Monitor and maintain the chemical inventory list per regulations.

  • Assist in maintaining and monitoring the access control system as assigned.

  • Safely operate company vehicles and equipment including but not limited to fork trucks, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, etc.

  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

    Your Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • One to two years of HSE related experience

  • Basic knowledge of OSHA 1910, desirable

  • Ability to prioritize and meet assignment deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and time manage workload.

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.

  • Ability to work with employees from all levels of the company.

  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office, specifically Word & Excel.

    Physical Demands:

  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time. Occasional heavy lifting up to 60lbs. Ability to work at heights above 6 feet. Ability to work outdoors during all seasons, including on roof surfaces.
