Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a HPC Research Scientist for our higher education customer in New Jersey. This person will be able to work within a hybrid model to accomplish the tasks of this role within their clinical academic and reporting team. This person should be comfortable accomplishing the following duties of the role:

 Helps to develop new and install and adapt existing data science and machine learning tools for research workflows and analytical pipelines for data being created in molecular and cellular biology and genomics, as well as engineer new toolsets that include AI models and Deep Learning algorithms developed in-house.

 Supports the customer research community, as well as other research disciplines, in their research computing and data related research.

 Engages in local outreach on the client campuses throughout New Jersey to identify potential new users of research computing and data resources.

 Works closely with faculty, post-doctoral associates, students, and research staff to understand their research to allow for the customization of workflows, training, and support, and has an opportunity to grow analytical and informatics team based on demand for biomedical and clinical informatics services.

Skills and Requirements

- 4+ years of experience supporting computationally and data intestive research projects

- Experience working and communicating with multiple researchers from different specialties

- Scripting experience with Python, R, Metlab, Julia, or Bash to pull data

- Masters or PHD in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering Computer Science, or related field - AI, Deep Learning, or Machine Learning experience

- Experience making chat bots, models, or NLP (nature language processing) components

- High Performance Computing experience null
