VWR INTERNATIONAL, LLC Supplier Quality Engineer in Solon, Ohio

The Opportunity: Avantor is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team in Solon, OH. In this role, you will develop, modify, apply, and maintain supplier quality evaluation and control systems/protocols. You will also devise, implement and improve methods and procedures for site supplier management. This role will be a full-time, hybrid role (3 days per week onsite, 2 days remote). What we're looking for Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or related discipline. Experience: 3+ years' experience in supplier quality engineering role or relevant experience. Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 preferred. Experience in chemical industry a plus. Previous experience in conducting quality audits preferable. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to identify problems and communicate solutions in a constructive and positive manner. Attention to detail; excellent organizational and record keeping skills. Working knowledge and experience with LEAN, Six Sigma methodologies. Proficiency working with Microsoft Excel, Word. Experience with SAP and ETQ systems preferred. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or are currently pursuing certification is preferred. How you will thrive and create an impact Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure raw material and packaging compliance. Lead the site supplier qualification process. Review all documentation submitted by suppliers to ensure compliance to requirements prior to approval. Responsible for electronic supplier file maintenance in site database and ERP systems. Ensure supplier documentation is current and make updates as appropriate. Investigate incoming OOS material and production complaints of raw material and packaging nonconformities and issue appropriate Supplier Corrective Action if necessary and conduct appropriate follow-ups. Review existing supplier contracts and change notifications and update where applicable. Manage supplier related change management. Review supplier notification for product and process changes and work with associated departments to coordinate in-house validation/verification activities.
