Swagelok offers an immersive 12-week summer internship program that gives interns the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience through meaningful projects and develop both personally and professionally. Over the summer you’ll combine what you learn in the classroom with applied work experience in Communications.

  • You will lead impactful projects that are focused on either continuous improvement, enhancing quality, optimizing cost-saving measures, or advancing safety measures of our processes and/or products.

  • You will be challenged to apply and develop the technical and interpersonal skills needed to succeed for years beyond the internship experience.   

  • You will further improve your problem-solving skills and be encouraged to collaborate with other Swagelok associates. 

  • You will participate in a variety of activities over the summer including: networking, learning the business, Swagelok associate resource groups, facility tours, professional development, and volunteering in the community. 

  • You will have direct engagement with executives and leading experts in our industry. 

  • You will have an opportunity to participate in resume reviews and mock interviews to prepare you for future opportunities at Swagelok. 

As a Communications intern, you have the opportunity to:

  • Work with the Communications, Human Resources, and departments on various real projects. Assignments will be determined on the skills and career focus of the candidate.

  • Examples of summer intern projects include:

  • Content creation – Build a range of communications deliverables such as written brochures, internal stories, photo books, branded pieces, videos, and articles.

  • Digital support – Collaborate with the digital team to support internal Sharepoint, social media, content development, reporting, and other related work.

  • Event support – support event team on logistics, content and/or onsite management of varying events for associates, customers or our network

  • Project management – Work with various teams to analyze, develop, and launch projects or events to support our internal communications efforts. (Most often, these communications projects support our internal strategies or external marketing initiatives. Examples include a project focused on safety on the shop floor, or recruitment campaign to target outside candidates.)

Education and/or Work Experience Qualifications:

Required :

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program; minimum of a sophomore year in a Bachelor’s degree program in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Integrated Marketing, Public Relations, Photography, Graphic Design, or Digital Communications

  • A minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Authorized to work in the United States

  • Able to work 10-12 weeks consecutively during the summer

  • Open to working in Solon, OH without relocation support

Preferred :

  • Prior internship experience is preferred

  • Strong writing skills and portfolio

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Office

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
