GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Machinist Level 2 for The Technology House, it is expected that you accurately and efficiently assemble and test a variety of moderate to complex products to achieve customer quality and on-time delivery schedules under general supervisory guidance. You will work on products that contain medical, aerospace, and defense components and multiple product families. You will machine products that go into top-level assemblies. You will also actively contribute to lean initiatives to increase productivity and cost-savings through waste elimination.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up and modify machines with attachments, fixtures, or specialized tooling to achieve different production capabilities
• Monitor cutting process and adjust machine controls manually to eliminate errors
• Maintain machine operations by performing maintenance tasks as needed to ensure machine longevity
• Inspect all products for accuracy and uniformity with cosmetics, dimensional requirements, proper identification, and test parameters to ensure zero defects
• Troubleshoot problems that are within capabilities of Machinist Level 2 and communicate issues to management
• Verify and ensure cycle times are being achieved 
• Ensure job traveler is being followed according to compliance and setup guidelines 
• Actively participate in lean initiatives and provide suggestions for cost-saving improvements through waste elimination
• Actively participate in high performance team initiatives
• Assist in training and development of other team members to promote continuous quality improvement
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 3 years of experience with machining, setups, programming, and offsets
• Experience with 3-axis CNC mills and lathes
• Experience with CNC machine programming software
• Experience with light machine maintenance
• Experience with interpreting drawings, CAD models, engineering orders, routers, and customer requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Lifting: Medium - Lift on an occasional basis a maximum of 50 pounds with frequent or constant lifting of 25 pounds
• Standing/Walking: Greater than 70% of workday
• Flexibility: Medium -- Reaching in machine, bending for parts
