Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Soledad, California

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in Soledad, California. This role involves managing the accounts payable process within our organization, ensuring all invoices are paid on time and accurate records are maintained. The role is integral to the smooth operation of our financial department and will contribute to the overall financial integrity of our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Prioritize invoices according to payment terms and ensure timely completion of payments.

• Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

• Analyze expenses and record entries accordingly.

• Obtain invoice approvals from relevant managers or supervisors.

• Resolve any discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices.

• Schedule weekly check runs to pay vendors and process checks upon request.

• E-file documents to maintain records of all invoices.

• Handle the maintenance and preparation of necessary forms.

• Respond promptly to vendor inquiries and reconcile vendor statements.

• Assist in month-end closing processes and audits, and take on special projects as needed. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable Clerk role or a similar position.

• Strong proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), Check Runs, Coding Invoices, and Data Entry.

• Solid experience in Invoice Processing.

• Demonstrable skills in using Microsoft Excel for managing and analyzing data.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies or inaccuracies in financial data.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks as necessary.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Demonstrable understanding of confidentiality and data protection issues related to financial information.

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field is preferred.
