Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Layout Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the visual integrity and accuracy of translated documents across various formats. As a Layout QA Specialist, you will work closely with our translation, design, and project management teams to uphold our high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and Quality Control:
Conduct comprehensive quality checks on translated documents to ensure layout consistency and accuracy in alignment with source documents.
Verify that formatting, typography, images, and other design elements are correctly applied and adhere to client specifications. Collaboration:
Work closely with translators, editors, and desktop publishing (DTP) specialists to resolve any layout or formatting issues.
Communicate effectively with project managers to understand client requirements and project timelines. Documentation and Reporting:
Document any deviations from quality standards and provide actionable feedback to relevant teams.
Prepare and deliver detailed reports on QA findings for internal review and client reference. Process Improvement:
Assist in developing and refining QA processes and checklists to enhance workflow efficiency and effectiveness.
Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and incorporate new tools and methodologies to improve the QA process. Technology Utilization:
Use specialized software and tools to perform quality checks on various document formats, including but not limited to PDF, Word, InDesign, and others.
Maintain proficiency in the latest versions of relevant software and tools.
Qualifications
A strong eye for detail and design, with a demonstrated ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience in a QA role, preferably within the translation, localization, or desktop publishing industries would be considered a plus.
Proficiency with desktop publishing software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and other relevant layout tools.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while maintaining a focus on quality.
Familiarity with translation and localization processes is a plus. Preferred Skills:
Experience with CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools and linguistic QA software.
Basic understanding of different languages and cultural nuances.
Problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
