Job Details Spine & Neurosurgery Program Coordinator Responsibilities: Responsible for participation in and oversight of Spine Surgery/Neuro Surgery Program. Responsible for participation in and oversight of Perioperative Services Program. Improvement as it relates to Spine and Neuro Surgery. Develops standardized, pre-printed pre-operative, post-operative, transfer and discharge orders. Develops Clinical Care Plans. Assists with education of staff. Assists with education of patients and significant others. Develops process for, and monitor, HIPAA-compliant data related to patient, age, weight, BMI, gender, race, insurance, length of stay, comorbidities, revisions, readmissions, reoperations, complications, deaths, procedure, CPT code, and date of service to track, trend and improve outcomes. Attends Spine/Neuro Surgery related seminars, conferences and provides information and education to patients, staff, hospital administrators, and other coordinators. Incorporates latest information from conferences and seminars into current programs. Assists with quality management/performance improvement related to the Spine/Neuro Surgery program. Attend appropriately related committee meetings. Responsible for attendance at Performance Improvement meetings and other meetings as requested. Initiates and assists in research studies designed to assess nursing care, plans and implements creative strategies to deliver exceptional nursing care. Collaborates with quality assurance/hospital performance improvement. Maintains required statistical records as well as Performance Improvement reports. Serves as a resource for the development, implementation, and evaluation of performance improvement initiatives. Plans and implements programs to strengthen the professional competency and meet educational needs of staff. Assume leadership role to ensure ongoing development and review of clinical policies and procedures, standards of care, patient education materials and patient care review activities. Assist with procurement and maintenance of equipment. Assist with the maintenance and control of supplies. Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures. QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or working towards degree required. Master’s Degree preferred. Current New York State RN Licensure required. Minimum 2 years’ recent clinical experience in a medical/surgical setting, Surgical Intensive Care or Ambulatory Surgery setting required. Operating Room experience preferred. Bio-medical engineering or IT experience a plus. Salary Range USD $113,000.00 - USD $141,000.00 /Yr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
