Overview St. Catherine of Siena Hospital is seeking an Associate Vice President (AVP) of Nursing to oversee patient care services within their assigned clinical areas. The Associate Vice President is guided by a broad knowledge of current nursing theory/practice, and familiarity with organization/functions of the departments, as well as knowledge of principles of management and supervision. Reporting directly to the CNO, the AVP will assist with administrative responsibilities and support the CNO to meet facility and system-wide operational goals. In addition, they will be a resource to the Nursing Directors at St. Catherine of Siena Hospital. Job Details Responsibilities: Plans, organizes and directs patient care services in accordance with the philosophy & objectives of the Nursing Department and Catholic Health Analyzes and evaluates delivery of patient care, quality, and effectiveness of nursing care. Collaborates with the CNO in planning and implementing new methods of delivering nursing care. Responsible for the staff of assigned units including recruitment, recognition, retention, corrective action, resignations, leaves of absences, performance management, conflict resolution, utilization, and skill mix Encourages responsibility, accountability, recognition, personal achievements, and growth opportunities of each staff member. Works closely with all staff members in providing services which enhance patient satisfaction. Collaborate with nursing education on new employee orientation, new implementations, and in-service programs Develops and monitors the budget in collaboration with CNO. Provides an atmosphere that is patient driven and patient focused. Creates and maintains an atmosphere of courtesy and respect toward patients, families, and staff. Demonstrates respect for the cultural and religious diversities and needs of the patients, families, and staff. Evaluates own practice in relation to professional practice standards, relevant statutes, and regulations. Maintains a positive and supportive attitude toward the mission and goals of Catholic Health Services. Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures Requirements: Education: Bachelors in Nursing with Masters in healthcare related field required Licensure/Certification: Current license in the State of New York as a Registered Professional Nurse. Certification in Leadership preferred. Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in a management position of similar scope and responsibility. Ability to develop and implement strategies to improve delivery of care to patients. Knowledge of federal, state and professional regulations that apply to the delivery of care. Demonstrated management skills: problem-solving, communication, human resources and Nursing practice Demonstrated commitment to own educational growth. Member of professional nursing organizations.
