This role will be accountable for all day-to-day engineering issues arising on production plant. The main purpose of the role is to Implement improved maintenance procedures and methods to improve reliability of equipment and manufacturing processes, thereby minimising lost production time.
A day in the life…
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, key responsibilities of the role include, but not limited to:
Personnel Supervisory experience with technical teams, Mechanical and Electrical (contractors, suppliers or other 3rd parties)
Manage day-to-day employee relations issues in order to provide a harmonious workplace
Consultation with the relevant unions on site where required
Safe execution of maintenance related tasks and equipment safety for all personnel on site.
Management of the maintenance team to achieve all key performance indicators through planning, scheduling and execution in accordance with Nestlé best practice, policies and procedures.
Key focus on Hygienic Engineering and Food Safety during all maintenance interventions.
Development and control of the site maintenance budget.
Development of Total Performance Management (TPM) Maintenance Working Groups across the site to support the Nestlé Maintenance Strategy.
Build further strategies with regards to Planned Maintenance and improved plant Reliability
Implementation of continuous improvement activities to enhance overall equipment performance.
Proven success in the development of small engineering improvement projects, defining technical equipment (for Production and/or Industrial Services) as part of a multidisciplinary team (preferably including different products and technologies, and both, the mechanical and E&A areas)
Capital project recommendations relevant to the ongoing plant performance as well as management of minor capital and continuous improvement projects as required.
Experience in the start-up or commissioning of technical equipment.

Minimum 5 years Maintenance Engineering experience.
Degree qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering.
Experience in TPM, preventive maintenance planning and/or maintenance execution.
Expertise in SAP, MS Project/Excel/Word/PowerPoint would be advantageous.
Self-Management following defined KPIs/Objectives, and proactively tracking them.
Strong verbal and written communication with all levels of management.
You take pride and responsibility in what you do with strong problem-solving skills and continuous improvement mind-set.
Proven ability to actively apply skills in a safe and effective manner.
