Robert Half Tax Director/Manager - Corporate in Smithfield, Virginia
Description We are in the process of recruiting a Tax Director/Manager - Corporate for our manufacturing operations in SMITHFIELD, Virginia, United States. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for managing the company's Federal and State income tax compliance function, contributing to tax planning initiatives, and assisting with audits. Additionally, you will work closely with our external financial statement auditors and handle ASC 740/FIN 48 matters.
Responsibilities
• Manage Federal and State income tax compliance function
• Assist with Federal and State income tax audits and respond to notices as needed
• Contribute to Federal and State income tax planning and project initiatives
• Assist with the company’s quarterly and annual effective tax rate calculations for ASC 740 and FIN 48
• Collaborate with external financial statement auditors on ASC 740/FIN 48 matters
• Utilize Adobe Acrobat, ATX Tax Software, CCH ProSystem Fx, CCH Sales Tax, and Compliance software in the execution of tax and compliance tasks
• Oversee accounting functions and ensure compliance with U.S. and State income tax laws
• Conduct auditing and ensure proper documentation of all processes
• Supervise, manage, and direct the activities of six to eight direct reports and multiple FTE external consultants on a daily basis
• Foster a respectful, approachable, and team-oriented work environment while building strong working relationships. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years experience in a tax manager or director role within the manufacturing industry
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat for documentation purposes
• Experience with ATX Tax Software is required
• Familiarity with CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax is essential
• Proficiency in using compliance software
• Strong understanding and experience with accounting functions
• Experience in preparing and reviewing annual income tax provision
• Ability to perform auditing tasks accurately and efficiently
• Experience in compliance roles is necessary
• Strong documentation skills are required
