Spanish Teacher
Position Title: Secondary Spanish Teacher, Probationary
Location: Cheektowaga-Sloan Union Free School District, John F. Kennedy High School
Salary/Pay Scale: $43,953 - $54,207 commensurate with experience ( with an additional $2,200 for Masters Degree as per the TAC contract)
Position Summary/Purpose:
In the Cheektowaga-Sloan UFSD, the faculty and staff are dedicated to creating a positive learning environment that recognizes all students' unique needs and talents by combining character education with a curriculum based on critical thinking. The emphasis is on teaching the whole child to create lifelong learners best prepared for college, their careers, and beyond.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS:
Develop and implement engaging and innovative lesson plans that align with the Languages Other Than English (LOTE) Standards
Have a strong background and/or experience in designing engaging lessons that enhance collaborative learning and critical thinking skills
Create a welcoming classroom environment where every student feels respected and supported
Be expected to serve as a role model for the students, staff, and the community by setting high expectations for learners and supporting them in reaching their goals
Assesses skills, collects data, monitors student progress, and evaluates growth to make recommendations for instruction and support
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students, including those with varying learning styles and backgrounds
Serve as an active member of our professional learning community
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or her designee
Requirements:
Language other than English, Spanish Certification (7-12)
