Murray County Chief Deputy Auditor/Treasurer in Slayton, Minnesota
Oversee accounting functions for receipts and disbursement packages Prepare and enter cash journal entries; Prepare trial balance monthly and process monthly reports. Responsible for verifying, adding new vendors and sending out and receiving all W9 and ST3 forms; Responsible for computing, coding, inputting and issuing reports for County Board approval; Upload and maintain Murray County Medical Center accounts payable; Reviews daily deposits; Responsible for issuing payments. Coordinates and maintains County tax information Responsible for maintenance of name, address and legal description changes from land transfers; Maintain prepaid taxes file, ACH file and escrow files within State system; Responsible for Input and calculate special assessments and ditch assessments; Input tax levies and tax rates from state, county, townships, cities, schools and special taxing authorities; Calculate, proof and process tax rolls, tax statements and tax settlements; Assist Auditor s Office with mandatory reports; Administer County tax system and manages all transactions, as well as issuance of tax settlements. Process payroll Ensure employees are properly paid; Manage payouts for terminations or retirements; Submit necessary federal, state, PERA, W.C. unemployment, and insurance reports with payroll; File weekly payroll deductions for the County and County Medical Center with State and Federal agencies and other necessary entities; Responsible for issuance and management of W-2 forms, 1099s and other employee related documents. Assist County Auditor/Treasurer Prepare for State Audit and prepare financial statement; Provides work direction to staff and serves as backup to other staff positions, if necessary; Receive, research and answer questions regarding department policies and procedures; Is responsible to act on behalf of the elected Auditor-Treasurer in an absence; Serve as customer service agent for department; Prepare and enter modified and full accrual journal entries; Prepare necessary reports and notes for State Auditor to issue Annual Financial Statement. Assists with Elections; Administer County tax system and manages all transactions, as well as issuance of tax settlements; Acts as Registrar of vital Records Responsible for the security of vital records data; issuance of certified birth certificates, death records, assists with issuance of death certificates and records and files marriages; records Notary Public Credentials and ordination credentials. Provide public notary services; Monitors, maintains and reviews coordination of property and liability reports through MCIT; Provide efficient, knowledgeable and courteous customer service. Other duties as apparent or assigned.
