Automation and Engineering Manager

This position reports into Site Lead Make Asset Management and is based at Helsingborg.

What you will do

The Manager Automation and Engineering is responsible for planning and directing overall automation and engineering activities, coordinating cross-functional teams, and providing effective management of subordinates to achieve desired results:

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement automation strategies to optimize production processes and increase efficiency.

  • Lead a team of automation and project engineers to ensure successful project completion.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex technical problems.

  • Design and oversee the installation of new equipment and systems.

  • Continuously evaluate and improve processes to meet quality and safety standards.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements to ensure the company remains competitive.

  • Lead and manage automation and engineering projects to ensure on-time delivery of comprehensive and accurate installation specifications, equipment, and material requirements

  • Develop and implement engineering policies and procedures to improve project efficiency and accuracy

  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to other departments as required

  • Manage and motivate subordinates to achieve desired results and provide performance feedback to employees

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures

  • Assist with troubleshooting problems, discrepancies, and investigations of non-conformance

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and qualification and validation approaches

  • Set business metrics for the team and provide evaluative input on individual work efforts

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to implement Industry 4.0 solutions

Qualifications

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.

  • 6-8 years of experience in automation and engineering.

  • Strong leadership and project management skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

  • Experience with PLC programming and control systems.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Project management experience with control of information flows, manage/control budgets, and follow-up planning

  • Working knowledge and experience of implementation of Industry 4.0 solutions

  • Equipment installation and computer proficiency (MS words, excel, PowerPoint)

  • Mindset for targeting long-term objectives while reaching short-term results

  • FPX, Six Sigma, Lean training

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of FPX methodology and use of GMP principles

  • Demonstrated leadership ability as it relates to leading significant projects and department management

  • Presentation and well-developed communication skills
