Robert Half Desktop Support Analyst in Skokie, Illinois

Description

We are on the hunt for a proficient Desktop Support Analyst to join our client's team in the manufacturing industry situated in Skokie, Illinois! The role focuses on diagnosing and resolving complex computing problems related to applications, hardware, networking, and other computer technology to ensure optimal computer operation. This role involves assisting users with hardware, software, and application problems, contributing to the smooth running of our IT operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact and provide problem resolution for all users experiencing hardware, software, and application issues.

  • Handle the installation, configuration, and maintenance of PCs, file servers, network cabling, and other related equipment.

  • Assist in forming long-term strategies and capacity planning to meet future hardware and desktop software needs.

  • Collaborate closely with other IT team members and end users to provide speedy, accurate solutions to IT problems.

  • Create and maintain desktop and laptop images.

  • Diagnose and resolve unique, nonrecurring problems associated with application software and operating systems.

  • Conduct tests on computers and peripherals on a network to diagnose hardware versus software problems.

  • Contribute to technical support documentation by providing resolutions to common problems and frequently asked questions.

  • Use your skills in Citrix Technologies, Dell Technologies, EO/IR systems, Mac Computers, Microsoft, Active Directory, Computer Hardware, Configuration Management, Deployments, Deskside Support, Network Switches, and End-User Support to provide user support.

    Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Desktop Support Analyst role within the manufacturing industry

  • Proficient in Citrix and Dell Technologies

  • Experience with EO/IR systems

  • Proficient in Mac Computers and Microsoft suite

  • Knowledge and understanding of Active Directory

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair computer hardware

  • Experience with Configuration Management and Deployments

  • Ability to provide Deskside Support

  • Familiarity with Network Switches

  • Proven track record of providing End-User and User Support

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
