Actalent Project Manager/estimator in Sioux City, Iowa

Job Title: Project Manager/EstimatorJob Description

This opportunity is for a commercial Project Manager/Estimator who will take on projects primarily focused on Water/Wastewater Facilities and Municipal Pools for Municipalities/Cities. Our client has been in business for 75 years, and this role offers a path to quickly advance into an Executive Position within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct precise project revenue and cost forecasting to ensure company profitability.

  • Lead estimating efforts to ensure a consistent bid-to-build process.

  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to manage resources effectively to meet project deadlines.

  • Develop comprehensive project plans and foster strong client relationships.

  • Maintain databases and negotiate terms with vendors.

  • Perform accurate project revenue and cost financial forecasting to meet company profitability goals.

  • Review specs/plans, perform take-offs, determine the scope of work, and communicate the same.

  • Participate in bid review and bid closing to ensure accuracy and evaluate project feasibility.

  • Work with the Chief Operations Officer to develop bid schedules.

  • Coordinate with the Chief Operations Officer, Superintendent, and project team for project start-up and successful kick-off.

  • Ensure accurate construction reports for continuous performance improvement.

  • Manage and submit shop drawings and job communication.

Essential Skills

  • 5 years of experience in estimating or project management

  • Experience in municipality work building water treatment plants, pools, etc.

  • Experience with Bluebeam and Sage for accounting purposes

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management

  • 5+ years in commercial project management/estimation, preferably in municipal work

  • 15 years of overall construction experience

Work Environment

The role involves less than 20% travel and will be based out of the Pender office. The office has a total of 20 employees, with 5 located in Pender.
