Position Overview

Under the general direction, the CNC/NC Programmer uses computer-aided software to develop and design architectural sheet metal parts. This role also performs duties in support of the project management team to keep projects organized and running smoothly, including assembling, tracking, and dispensing of information.

Essential Job Functions

  • Program sheet metal parts as directed, using cncKad programming software.

  • Interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions; designing and setting up programs; and conducting test runs.

  • Set up machines and ensure quality control of parts according to programmed instructions.

  • Maintain documentation of programming changes, tooling requirements, and machine settings.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot machines, perform quality checks, and keep up with routine machine maintenance.

  • Coordinate the flow of paperwork associated with projects.

  • Serve as a point of contact for field leaders.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED. CNC/NC programming experience is preferred but not required.

  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM or cncKad software desired.

  • Experience using 3D modeling software helpful.

  • Able to read, organize, and interpret construction documents, drawings, and blueprints.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with co-workers engaged in diverse activities and technical work and customers

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and have the ability to learn new software applications and computer programs related to the role.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and organize the workload to handle multiple priorities and simultaneously meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to job sites and outside locations for meetings.
