AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

The Specialist Operations Manager possesses an understanding of AWS specialized services, who can leverage their depth of operations experience to develop and drive the effectiveness, efficiency, and performance of Specialist Sales and Solution Architects teams, and partner cross functional to deliver improvement initiatives that will accelerate the opportunity to revenue. The successful candidate must be able to roll-up their sleeves, and work directly with the models/data. The individual will help drive towards simple, scalable solutions to difficult problems, have excellent project-management skills, and be able to communicate complex analytical results, both written and verbally, in a clear and easy-to-understand way. This role will hold a variety of responsibilities ranging from day-to-day operations, to delivering business insights and recommendations, to driving strategic planning activities, to leading initiatives focused on process improvement and organization efficiency.

Key job responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to Area Specialist leaders and team members, leveraging data and analyses to land business insights, and scale the business.

• Drive incubation and growth for some of the newest and most innovate offerings in the AWS portfolio. Including driving improvements to the reporting tools, methods, and processes utilized by the team to increase the availability and granularity of actionable data to their customers.

• Partner with AGS Area Specialist leaders to build end-to-end services goals management mechanisms (e.g. target cascading, attainment tracking, and get-to-green plans), executing across Annual Planning, Rhythm of the Business (e.g. Monthly Business Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews), Business Insights, and Operational Enablement.

• Support the administration and execution of the team’s targets, including segmentation of business goals, measurement of goal attainment, evolving and driving various demand generation campaigns and proposing improvements to the business to increase its effectiveness in driving desired results.

• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ascertain business needs, and to drive standardization, prioritization, automation of metrics, data, reporting, and dashboards.

• Support and deliver on other ad-hoc requests, projects, initiatives, and/or analysis, as needed

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Microsoft Excel experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience developing and implementing systems/tools utilized for CRM, variable compensation, revenue reporting, forecasting, Salesforce automation, etc.

  • Experience defining, refining and implementing sales processes, procedures and policies or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Salesforce (or other CRM tool) or BI tools

  • Experience presenting to senior leadership
