Job Description:

The Rates Setting Assistant Manager deploys and implements the annual rate increase strategy and rate initiatives for Asia Pacific International services. He/She manages and participates in market/industry trends and competitive analysis. He/She develops long-term and short-term rate change strategy for the APAC markets basing on the insights and manages annual rate increase projects. He/She determines financial impact of rate initiatives and other revenue enhancement projects. This position supervise others in the department.

Job Requirements

  • Evaluates competitive marketplace rates and services to establish fair UPS rates.

  • Evaluates marketplace trends to look for opportunities to increase profits.

  • Creates new rate charts to accommodate new services and fees.

  • Makes recommendations for changes to UPS rates to increase profits.

  • Creates project definition documents for rate related initiatives to gain approval for the initiatives.

  • Deploys new rate setting initiatives to review with stakeholders.

  • Creates and maintains project plans for rate initiatives to ensure successful implementation.

  • Manages market and competitive research to provide information for initiatives.

  • Works with impacted groups to evaluate the effects of rate change initiatives.

  • Communicates changes to impacted systems for seamless implementation

  • Deploys project plans for global rate implementation and coordinates with Global Revenue Enablement

  • Compares competitive rates to ensure UPS is well positioned in the market.

  • Develop rate migration strategy and budget.

  • Manage migration process and evaluate the take rate effectiveness.

  • Evaluates results of the implemented rate changes to determine the effectiveness of the initiative and provide insights to the results.

  • Identifies individual and team skill gaps and developmental opportunities (e.g., training, special assignments, conferences, projects, etc.) to facilitate individual and team development.

  • Ensures that direct reports have documented career goals and detailed plans for achieving these goals to develop them personally and professionally

  • Conducts frequent performance evaluations in a consistent, fair, and objective manner to facilitate open communication and encourage continuous performance improvement.

  • Holds others accountable to established performance levels to achieve individual and group goals.

  • Resolves individual and group performance issues in accordance with UPS's policies and procedures in a timely manner to motivate and foster teamwork.

  • Coaches others and provides on-going feedback and support to improve performance.

  • Identifies opportunities to involve others in new and challenging work assignments and/or rotations that advance the skills and capabilities of individuals and the organization.

Job Requirements

  • Possess a Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or relevant fields

  • Possess 2-3 years’ working experience in Marketing, Pricing, Market Analytics or Revenue Management

  • Possess project management experience

  • Display strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Demostrated ability to interact with different levels of people with excellent communication skills in both written and spoken

  • Hands-on knowledge in SQL and Python is preferred

  • Proficiency of Microsoft Office Applications PowerPoint, Excel, Access) and Power BI
