Job Introduction
The key function of the EH&S Manager role is to oversee the day-to-day safety of the local operational plant and warehouse and oversee all SDS programs, permit renewals, and reporting requirements.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) regulations, and keep abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the company.
Work with local leaders, drive EH&S strategies across the company ensuring appropriate EH&S systems and resources are in place.
Implement EH&S practices, policies, and procedures that comply with company, federal, state, local and country safety and environmental regulatory standards.
Advise VP of EH&S and operations management on high-risk Security and EH&S issues and effectively work with them in identifying solutions for preventing and resolving identified issues.
Conduct on-going data and risk analysis to trend and identify known and/or emerging Security and EH&S risks and develop prevention strategies.
Prepare studies and analysis of accidents and incidents focusing on root cause analysis and hazards to Security and EH&S with a focus on prevention.
Coordinate investigations of accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents with local leadership and impacted employees/contractors.
Conduct routine site audits with local managers on their safety programs.
Ensure compliance with labeling, storage, and shipping rules applicable to various chemicals.
Maintain SDS databases and related product databases (chemical compositions, transportation descriptions, etc.) for the organization.
Prepare and/or review applications for permits, exemptions, registrations, certifications, etc. and maintain records
Represent the organization in community or industry related Security and EH&S programs.
Implementation and monitoring of appropriate metrics and compliance reports against which the Company can use to measure the effectiveness and continuous improvement of its Security and EH&S programs.
Properly handle and accumulate Waste including Hazardous Waste by following appropriate procedures.
Perform other related duties as required.

Excellent communication skills – both written and oral in the form of presentations, business reports, regulatory correspondence.
Strong process management mind-set and experience deploying quality process, practices and metrics in a multi-facility environment.
Working knowledge of local regulatory safety, transportation, work rules, and fire protection and response requirements for chemicals highly preferred
Strong knowledge of current EH&S practices, policies and regulatory requirements.
Strong knowledge of behavioral based safety strategy and techniques.
Expertise in EH&S data management and reporting internal and external to the company.
Education/Certifications:
Candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or have 5+ years of EH&S experience.
An advanced health & safety certification (CSP) or advanced degree is highly desirable.

This position may travel up to 25% of the time depending on the business and/or project needs. This position will report to the Vice President of EH&S
