Continental Business Partner Export Control & Sanctions APAC in Singapore, Singapore

This role will support Export Control and Sanctions matters in Singapore, Philippines, and Australia, and also cover entire APAC region for ContiTech Sector, cooperating with export control managers in each country. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of export control and sanctions compliance within the APAC region and demonstrate a strong ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement export control and sanctions compliance strategies and programs across the APAC region.

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments identifying potential areas of vulnerability and risk within the organization.

  • Collaborate closely with various departments including legal, sales, logistics, and engineering to ensure alignment with export control and sanctions regulations.

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on export control and sanctions matters to senior management and other key stakeholders.

  • Lead cross-border projects related to export control and sanctions, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

  • Organize and deliver training sessions on export control and sanctions compliance to employees at all levels within the organization.

  • Stay abreast of changes in export control and sanctions laws and regulations, and assess the potential impact on the organization's operations.

  1. Education and Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Law, Administration Administration, Economics, or related fields; advanced degree preferred.

  • Professional certification in a relevant area is preferred.

  1. Professional Experience
  • At least 5 years in export control and sanctions roles, with a preference for experience in relevant industries.

  • Experience managing export control and sanctions compliance within a multinational corporation, preferable with exposure to the APAC region, including Singapore, Philippines, and Australia

  • Strong understanding of APAC region's export control laws and international sanctions regimes.

  1. Intercultural / International Experience
  • Significant experience working in a multicultural environment, preferably in the APAC region.

  • Excellent cross-cultural communication skills

  • Familiarity with compliance programs and projects.

  • Familiarity with conducting risk assessments and internal audits.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong interpersonal and consensus-building skills.
