Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Static Data team within the Global Wholesale Operations in Asia Pacific ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.
Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
Deliver consistent service, meet the established SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and comply with the Bank’s policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements
Ensure timely and accurate processing of opening, closure of counterparty and Instrument static in the Bank’s various systems
Monitor, manage and mitigate data quality breaks, minimizing operational risks issues associated with data maintenance in the production operation
Setting up of Standard Settlement Instructions in source systems (e.g. Gloss, Loan IQ & Wallstreet)
Understand and possess good knowledge of system/business requirements in how static data are maintained/derived
Assist in executing and monitoring the end-to-end migration process for core banking systems.
Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure operational compatibility
Identify and escalate migration-related issues, collaborating with stakeholders to resolve them
Verifying and reconciling migrated data against legacy system.
Identify potential risk to minimize operational impact
Document process changes, operational workflows and standard operating procedures
Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
Understands the risks associated with the functions they carry out and consider the implications, alternatives and consequences of own decisions, actions and behaviors
Maintains efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls are met according to procedures so as to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance/AML risk
Contributes to a high-performance environment and actively contributes to an effective and high performing team that helps build global success of GWO.
Works co-operatively with business lines, other GWO teams and internal stakeholders to ensure operational risks are highlighted or escalated and to maintain good level of service to both clients and internal stakeholder
Dimensions
Understanding of Bank systems, front and back, are prerequisites for the role
Vendor Knowledge /experience i.e. Loan IQ, Gloss, Bloomberg, Refinitiv and OMEGEO alert service is desired
Supports the line manager in the day-to-day business processes, and handles ongoing escalations
As a function SME, able to work independently, providing after office hours support as part of the London coverage remit
Coordinates team activities and coaches on technical aspects of work to meet daily schedules
Functions and processes to be mirrored where possible with the relevant regulatory requirements taken into account
Focus on following procedures & controls for functions currently being carried out in APAC
Businesses covered will include Equities, FICC, Group Treasury & Corporate Banking
Take initiative to improve efficiencies, including being able to plan clear steps and set milestones
Participate in testing for various tactical and strategic initiatives involving static data
Take accountability for providing excellent services to internal stakeholders
Understands interdependencies across related teams and leverages that understanding to ensure targeted results
Uses judgement to identify, troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day operational problems guided by standards and policies
Possess an inquisitive and open mindset and takes initiative to conduct deep dive when required.
Identify trends / gaps and work with the Line Manager to address those
Education / Experience / Other Information
Understanding of the AML/KYC and onboarding process would be beneficial
Understanding of operation controls and risks
Fast learner and is able to understand what drives process, operational and organizational change
Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, and is able to clearly communicate with internal stakeholders or clients
Being systems savvy is a pre-requisite for the role
Demonstrate the willingness to tackle challenges and learn from them
