The Cigna Group Accounting and Regulatory Reporting Manager in Singapore, Singapore
The principal responsibility of the Accounting Lead Analyst is to assist the Financial Controller in management of accounts and regulatory reporting for Singapore entity. This role will report to the Financial Controller.
Critical Tasks and Expected Contributions/Results:
Lead the accounting / regulatory reporting team to prepare
monthly management accounts in accordance with US/local GAAP (including IFRS 17) within strict reporting deadlines
quarterly and annual MAS submissions in accordance with MAS regulatory requirements
annual financial statements in accordance with local GAAP requirements
monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts in line with US SOX requirements
quarterly and year end reporting exhibits to Head Office in line with timetable
Manage and coordinate with auditors (external, internal and regulators) and ensure efficient and timely completion of audits
Coordinate with Tax Department (internal shared services) in the preparation and timely submission of local income tax returns and ensuring all information is submitted to the Tax Department on a timely and consistent basis
Responsible for the efficient and effective functioning of the accounting and regulatory reporting processes including maintenance of effective internal controls, and driving automation and process improvement opportunities.
Supporting the wider finance team in various ad hoc projects
Experience/Knowledge, Education and Other Requirements:
Fully qualified accountant with experience in leading a small team in managing full sets of insurance accounts and regulatory reporting
Minimum of 7 years of insurance accounting and regulatory reporting experience.
Experience of monthly accounting close process in a fast-paced environment
Experience in insurance and within an international environment is preferable
Familiar with MAS regulatory reporting requirements
Focus on strong control environment and experience of balance sheet reconciliations
US GAAP knowledge is preferable
IFRS 17 knowledge is preferable
Able to work under pressure and meet key deadlines
Experience on Oracle or similar General Ledger packages
Strong excel and general PC skills are essential
