Description: The RN Educator – Labor and Delivery is the clinical expert in evidence-based nursing practice within a specialty area. This position functions autonomously and in collaboration with other healthcare providers to manage, support, and coordinate the care of acute and/or critically ill patients.

Responsibilities

  • Orientation of new staff to the unit and the development of current staff

  • Teaching didactic classes

  • Managing the CETT Drills (Critical Event Team Training)

  • Collaborating with other educators in the hospital

  • Working cohesively with the HRPC Clinical Specialist

  • Reviewing and maintaining unit-based policies

  • Providing leadership in advancing nursing practices to achieve quality and cost-effective patient outcomes

  • Leading multidisciplinary groups to design and implement innovative solutions addressing system problems and/or patient care issues

  • Providing clinical teaching, supervision, and directing patient assignments for new and experienced staff

What you will need:

Minimum Licensure/Certification Required (if applicable):

  • Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse

  • National certification in clinical specialty required (must be acquired within 1 year of start date)

  • Role certification preferred

  • AHA BLS and/or NRP Instructor Status preferred

Minimum Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or related field. (Previous role as educator preferred)

  • Minimum five (5) years of related clinical experience

  • Ability to utilize evidence to develop, teach, guide, and implement practice standards and policies

  • Demonstrated ability at the level of an advanced practice nurse

  • Available to meet educational needs on all shifts

  • Proficiency with computer applications such as, MS Teams, EMR, Outlook, Excel, etc.

Pay rate: $40.99 - $61.49

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
