Under general supervision of the classroom teacher, to assist the teacher in instructional tasks and in routine clerical record-keeping and in the overall guidance of student activities involving games, sports, arts and crafts, and various recreational programs and Library.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\ Under the direction and supervision of the Elementary Interventionist Coordinator and the classroom teacher, the MOWR has the following duties:
- Be knowledgeable of the basic course content for students; and, educational goals and objectives for each assigned student.
- Assist in planning and providing literacy support to small groups of students (75% ofthe day).
- Assist with individual assessment of students.
- Collect, analyze, and maintain accurate records of student progress through the use of progress monitoring and formative assessments.
- Provide support for the emotional needs of students.
- Assist with providing a safe and supportive environment.
- Attend workshops or professional development in best practices in literacy.
