SEMPCORP Human Resource Manager in Sidney, Ohio
About Us: We are the world's leading producer of lithium-ion battery separators. As we expand our operations to Ohio, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Manager to build and lead our local workforce from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to shape the HR function at a brand-new manufacturing operation, set to employ between 300 to 400 people in its initial phase with significant room to grow.
Job Responsibilities:
Workforce Planning and Recruitment:
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract a skilled workforce.
- Manage the entire recruitment process, including job postings, interviews, and selection.
- Partner with local employment agencies, colleges, and other recruitment sources.
Onboarding and Training:
- Design and conduct comprehensive onboarding programs for new hires.
- Identify training needs and coordinate ongoing training and development programs.
- Ensure all employees are well-versed in company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Payroll and Benefits Administration:
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries and issues.
Employee Relations:
- Foster a positive and productive work environment through effective employee relations strategies.
- Address employee concerns, conflicts, and grievances in a timely and fair manner.
- Implement and uphold company policies and procedures.
HR Policies and Compliance:
- Develop and enforce HR policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices and legal requirements.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
Performance Management:
- Implement performance management systems to evaluate employee performance and provide feedback.
- Develop and execute employee recognition and reward programs.
- Support managers in addressing performance issues and implementing improvement plans.
HR Systems and Reporting:
- Establish and maintain HR systems and records.
- Generate regular HR reports and metrics to inform decision-making.
- Continuously improve HR processes and systems for efficiency and effectiveness.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of HR management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of building and managing HR functions in a start-up or rapidly growing company.
- In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
- Strong experience in recruitment, employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, and compliance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with the local labor market and community resources in Ohio is a plus.
