Job Title: Senior Technical Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Salary: £76,368 + Dependent Upon Experience
Location(s): Remote, Stafford, Shrewsbury or Peterlee

The Opportunity
As a Senior Technical Regulatory Compliance Engineering Specialist in the Emissions and Product Regulatory Compliance division, you will join a global team of experts that informs and interprets emissions regulations and standards for Caterpillar. Your work involves extensive collaboration with your peers, regulators, NGOs and industry groups as well as internal business stakeholders. Your role has primary responsibility for emissions regulatory affairs in Europe, UNECE, and other jurisdictions as needed.
What you will do
Understand and stay current on emissions regulatory requirements and understand application of same to Caterpillar’s products.
Provide authoritative interpretation of – and guidance on – developing and current emissions regulations to business partners.
Personally engage with industry groups and regulators to inform rulemakings.
Identify and communicate regulatory trends to inform business decision making.
Collaborate with various internal stakeholders to ensure the development, validation and production of product that meets applicable emissions regulatory requirements.
Skills you must have
Influencing Through Expertise: Extensive knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.
Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision. A willingness to closely analyze regulatory text for changes, areas of concern, ambiguity, apparent errors, etc.
Effective Communications: Advanced understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; proven ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Expert knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; proven ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; proven ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner. •
Education: A degree in an accredited Engineering or closely related curriculum.
Top candidates will also have
Prior experience in Regulatory Affairs.
Extensive knowledge of European non-road legislation and testing standards.
Expert knowledge of EU Stage V and UNECE R96.
Knowledge of engine emissions technologies and certification test procedures.
Prior experience working with non-road engine and/or equipment industry associations.
