Actalent Quality Engineer in Shreveport, Louisiana

Job Title: Quality Engineer (post sales)

Job Description

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for managing all customer defects and the initial communication with customers. This role requires the ability to ask the right technical questions to understand the true nature of problems and potential defects. The Quality Engineer will also create documentation for the team on the floor to conduct proper testing to fix issues and will handle all warranty claims. Performance will be measured by two main KPIs: the number of units sent back to the plant (30 units or less) and the recycle time for getting the units back to the customer (less than 30 days).

Responsibilities

  • Manage all customer defects and initial communication with customers.

  • Ask technical questions to understand the true nature of problems and potential defects.

  • Create documentation for the team to conduct proper testing to fix issues.

  • Handle all warranty claims.

  • Ensure the number of units sent back to the plant is 30 units or less.

  • Ensure the recycle time for getting units back to the customer is less than 30 days.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with electrical components.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with exposure to electrical components.

  • Supplier quality management.

  • CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions).

  • 5 Why Analysis.

  • 8D (Eight Disciplines of Problem Solving).

  • Inspection control.

  • Root cause analysis.

  • Defect management.

  • Project management.

  • Manufacturing experience.

  • PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).

  • GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

Work Environment

The work environment is a manufacturing setting. The progression involves an initial meeting with the customer to identify issues, detailed documentation of product defects, communicating the documentation to the plant, and following up on the timeline to get the issues completed and shipped back out. The company is growing, with $8 million expansion plans that will build out more product lines and opportunities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.47 - $43.27
