Louisiana Association for the Blind Quality Assurance Manager in Shreveport, Louisiana
Title: Quality Assurance Manager Department: Corporate Location: 1107 Burt Street, Shreveport, La Wage Category: Exempt Report To: President and CEO
Overview: The Quality Assurance Manager will facilitate efficient production operations by planning, leading, and implementing quality assurance measures for company products.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Inspection:
- Conduct inspections of raw materials and documentation/shipping orders throughout the entire production process to ensure products meet specified standards and the shipping orders are correct.
- Identify and analyze issues, defects, and other problems prior to shipment. Recommend and facilitate solutions.
- Ensure quality inspection data, records, and purchase orders are properly maintained.
- Confirm that products inspected by the Quality staff adhere to the product/shipping specifications.
Process Comprehension/Improvement:
- Understand the specifications of the company's manufacturing products and their identified purposes.
- Thoroughly understand all manufacturing, shipping, and receiving processes.
- Develop, implement, and manage processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability before delivery to customers.
Compliance:
- Identify and set appropriate quality standards and parameters for products.
- Maintain compliance with federal government, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.
- Ensure compliance with internal Quality Management requirements.
- Monitor and report on production quality, nonconformance, trends, and underlying causes of defects in products or processes.
- Understand the specifications for the Certificate of Analysis/Certificate of Conformance for paper rolls, non-skid material, sandpaper, and edge sealer.
International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 Quality Management System:
- Maintain the quality plan to implement the companys standardized system and policies into compliance.
- Assign appropriate responsibilities to execute objectives and ensure clear communication of ISO expectations and guidelines.
- Maintain the ISO log.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills:

``` - Communicate quality standards and parameters to the Quality team and other manufacturing divisions. - Effectively communicate and work with department leaders to coordinate quality assurance operations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hire and train Quality Assurance staff.
- Manage the daily workflow and schedules of the Quality department.
- Direct the Quality team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous learning, and exemplary leadership.
- Conduct constructive performance evaluations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Competencies:
Thorough understanding of quality assurance standards and methodology.
Ability to read and interpret industrial documents, manuals, rulers, and measurement instruments.
