We are looking for:

As a Plant Engineer , you will support the Oil & Gas Solutions site on the process, reliability, project, and controls engineering work. You will be responsible for providing daily technical expertise and engineering support, leading process optimization and process troubleshooting efforts, improving and sustaining reliability, and managing capital projects. In addition, work closely with new product introduction, scale-up, and feasibility studies.

We count on you for:

  • Implement process optimization improvements and manage OEE reporting and analysis.

  • Provide process-related support to incident investigations, process deviations, and MOCs.

  • Team member for technology transfers and new product introductions.

  • Identify process variations and implement measures to reduce such variations, and track themeffectiveness of reduction measures.

  • Assist with analyzing process data and critical quality parameters for control of the manufacturing process.

  • Responsible for process troubleshooting.

  • Investigate off-grade batches, identify root cause, report findings, and implement action items.

  • Provide process input for the creation and revision of manufacturing batch sheets.

  • Assessment of current equipment capabilities and possibly capital requirements.

  • Monitor equipment performance, identify root cause failures, and create strategies to prevent failures.

  • Maintain and sustain equipment reliability.

  • Prepare/update/create/manage flow diagrams, batch sheets, P&IDs, SOPs, and equipment and control specifications.

  • Manage capital projects up to multi-million dollar range. Monitors all project expenditures and cost tracking.

  • Design new or improved process systems.

  • Provide training to maintenance and production employees on unit operations, chemistries, and batch recipes or DCS changes/enhancements in regard to production.

  • Provide support for the plant DCS and PLC control system including programming and troubleshooting.

  • Assume primary responsibility for maintaining and updating the plant PI process book data historian.

  • Perform and embrace Manufacturing Excellence.

  • Must be able to comply with all Syensqo safety rules and company policies.

  • Comply with local EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) regulations.

  • Participate, coordinate and/or lead process hazard reviews, pre-startup safety reviews, and management of change.

  • Act as the site leader role model, participate in employee engagement activities, and be a champion for safety and compliance.

  • Plus other duties communicated by the supervisor and/or the site leadership team.

You will bring:

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering or related field with 5-10 years petroleum or chemicals manufacturing experience.

  • Must have basic process design and operation of basic equipment in a petroleum or chemical manufacturing facility.

  • The individual must be organized, systematic, independent, and self-motivator.

  • Prioritize, schedule, inspect work, and (re)direct resources as necessary across multiple tasks.

  • Ability to read, understand and develop P&IDs, batch sheets, process flow diagrams, and other engineering documents.

  • Capable of fieldwork as needed to collect and verify data.

  • Must read and understand written procedures (SOPs) and/or verbal instruction.

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) and ability to create procedures and train operations personnel.

  • Ability to lead process improvement and awareness at the plant.

  • In-depth knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software, engineering spreadsheets/calculations.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, team worker and good communication with varying functional leaders both internally and externally

  • Ability to work under pressure and change assignments quickly by meeting deadlines and targets.

You will get:

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $80,560 to $100,700 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
