Philips System Engineer in Shenzhen, China

Job title:

Purpose:

  • Balance current and future stakeholder/business needs and translates these into architectural and technological choices.

  • Deliver high quality solutions or products, by meeting user and business requirements and managing technical complexity. A Systems Engineer is a leader who is technically end-responsible.Your role:

  • Define system requirements of Personal Health Products.

  • Responsible for the realization of full systems product release/life cycle management meeting quality and compliance, function, safety, security and cost targets.

  • Translation of user and business requirements into product requirements, high level product design, check and optimize integration and verification

  • Define internal and external interfaces of each system element

  • System decomposition and allocation of derived requirements down to HW/SW element and part level and related traceability.

  • Trade-off of product/system design specifications and interfaces, determine feasibility of potential solutions

  • Analysis of system requirements and country legal requirements. Ensure full Product Safety Risk Management in a regulation compliant manner.

  • Development of the system architecture in-line with existing generic architectures (HW/SW platform) and functional safety.

  • Identify and track critical timing aspects on system level

  • Establish verification criteria to ensure key requirements and critical timing aspect could be validated within agreed constraints of the system architecture

  • Lead and be involved in various parts of the product life cycle from Innovation, Quotation, to Development phases by working with the customer and development engineering team.

  • Participate and support development team in design reviews

  • Documentation of the product system by formal description, communicating to project team system constraints to ensure key impact factors are respected

  • Identification of optimization options on system level

  • Moderate and support problem resolution between the different disciplines in the area of the system

  • Lead as key competence resource in multi-partner cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.

  • Attend training to develop skills and knowledge to keep up to date with latest technology

You are a part of

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience.

  • Engineering Degree with minimum 5+ years’ experience in mechanical and or related discipline. Relevant product domain experience in consumer electronics device is an added advantage

  • Be able to lead design topics and structured problem solving.

  • Strong knowledge of system requirement management.

  • Experienced in Agile and product development methodology.

  • Knowledge in Functional Safety requirement

  • Very good knowledge of product development methodology, traceability method, design methods and processes, system, and functional safety requirements management.

  • Critical thinker with outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Confident communicator with ability to effectively present concepts and ideas both verbally and visually in English in a multi-site international setting. Proficient in Chinese and English writing and speaking.

  • Ability to interact with suppliers, customers and business partners

  • Strong team player, accurate, cost and quality minded.

  • Familiar with Design for Six Sigma, Lean development, FMEA, MS office applications is plus

  • Must be able to travel for business
