As a Qualcomm Software Application Engineer, you will provide technical expertise of software systems through technical presentations in support of business development, product demonstrations, design and development of customer specific requirements, commercialization, and maintenance of Qualcomm products. Qualcomm Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to address questions, issues, debugging, or troubleshooting regarding software systems and applications.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

• 1+ year of any combination of academic and/or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

• 1+ year of any combination of academic and/or work experience with debugging techniques.

Job Function

Join Qualcomm Customer Engineering team and work with world leading Internet of Everything (Wearable / Smart Pos/ VR/ AR / IP Camera / Robotics) device makers to design, develop and launch exciting new Qualcomm products. The Linux BSP Customer Engineer will work closely with Qualcomm customers to:

-Understand customer requirements and designs

-Analyze Linux kernel and Android userspace code

-Co-develop custom solutions on Linux/Android

-Debug and resolve system level functional and issues

Skills/Experience

The candidate will collaborate with cross functional teams worldwide including chip, platform, product and software development teams to support customers during system design, board bring-up, continuous integration, stabilization, optimization, product launch and maintenance release stages. Prior experience in Qualcomm MSM products is preferred.

-Excellent High-level language (C, C++, Java) skills

-Experience in software development on Mobile/Linux/Embedded platforms including compiling, linking, loading, executing and debugging firmware images

-Prior experience on Linux Kernel 3.x/4.x/5.x

-Experience in Kernel Architecture and issue debugging

• Experience in Android Power/Performance Architecture and issue debugging

• Experience in Android Framework and issue debugging is preferred

-Experience in 32-bit and 64-bit ARM Architecture and Assembly Programming

-System level debugging with JTAG Trace 32

-Excellent written and verbal skills in English

-Strong background in customer engagement, issue tracking and problem resolution

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor or above with a major of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or relevant.
