Description

Background: Amazon is enhancing its capabilities to source directly from the factories of its vendors globally and establish its global supply chain to meet the customer demands. Middle East, South Africa and other emerging marketplaces are growing rapidly and attracting more suppliers to support Amazon business.

To extend the support to Direct Import suppliers of these emerging marketplaces, and improve supplier performance to support import business growth, we need dedicated program manager for these marketplaces to enhance origin supplier engagement model and implement supply chain strategies to optimize cost, sales and customer experience.

As Retail Program Manager in Global Logistics, you need possess good understanding and experience on operational process and workflow so can identify improvement opportunities and drive initiatives for supplier performance and experience improvement. You must have end-to-end business ownership of import supply chain processes from manufacturer to the availability in our Fulfillment Centers.

The successful candidate is a new idea generator, problem solver who works well in a fast-paced ambiguous environment. This candidate demonstrates strong ownership to help customers and drive continuous improvement across our Imports supply chain. The position provides opportunities to influence the whole process and drive improvement actions throughout the responsibilities:

Works with across teams at origin, destination, and retail business team to identify and implement best practices to direct import suppliers.

Demonstrates strong hands-on project and operations management, setup operations process from origin logistics perspective for direct import suppliers.

Shows strong ownership of any part of their project. Possesses combination of practical and intellectual skills and an ability to shift, and adapt to different tasks that vary between complex analyses and hands-on project and operations management.

Structures and develops implementation plans and works with stakeholder teams to pilot and test new solutions and then roll-out across the broader cross-country level.

Manages critical relations with external partners (i.e. retail vendors) from the initial phase of new initiatives to its execution.

Dives deep in the operational process to correct under performing parts and acts as a trouble shooter.

Provides technical/operational guidance to the vendor operations team on their process or part of the medium to large project.

Performs supporting research and analysis, and drive the product (project, processes/ deliverables) development schedule from design to release.

Implements import ordering strategies for retail partner to ensure Amazon meets the optimal mix of domestic and import sourcing.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
