A Shelton area company is seeking an Accountant to join their team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for all aspects of Accounts Payable, as well as general accounting functions. This company offers a good work life balance, a hybrid schedule (more time is required in the office during the initial training period and certain busy times of year) and fosters an environment that encourages growth and professional development.

responsibilities:

• Full cycle Accounts Payable (50-100 invoices per week)

• P.O. Management

• Research discrepancies and vendor inquiries

• Preparation of journal entries

• Assist with audit preparation

• Track inventory in the warehouse

• Account recs

• Bank recs

• Participate in month-end close

• Back-up to Accounts Receivable

• Ability to travel 1 to 2 times per year

• Ad hoc projects

qualifications:

• BS in Accounting, or relevant experience

• 5 plus years of Accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years of Accounts Payable experience

• Solid Excel skills required

• Prior experience with Concur strong desired

• Prior ERP experience

• Excellent organizational skills

• Positive attitude, takes initiative

• Ability to self-motivate and work independently

• Team-player

Salary: $80-90K, plus bonus potential
