Pricing Analyst, Principal

We are looking for a Pricing Analyst to join our Shelby team!

As our Pricing Analyst you will report to the Senior Director of Business Development of the Shelby Group. You will be an integral member of the Business Development team. As a fully competent analyst, you will assist, coordinate and administer complex bids and proposals, including FAR compliant proposals.

Your Challenge

  • As a member of the proposal team, the primary responsibility is to support the Business Development team with all cost and pricing aspects of individual proposals, including:

  • Capture Basis of Estimates (BOE)

  • Capture and collate multiple inputs for non-recurring cost budgets on complex multi-year development programs

  • Capture detailed bill of material costs from manufacturing and supply chain teams, including analysis against actuals

  • Manage and capture costing for any 3rd party items that may be required

  • Build and coordinate review of overall business model including consideration of contractual elements such as escalation formulae, spares multiples. Conduct sensitivity analyses and prepare answers to questions from leadership

  • Develop data necessary to support FAR 12 and FAR 15 compliant proposals, including subsequent reviews and audits

  • Secure timely approvals for proposal pricing

  • Develop strategies and implement solutions for most efficient costing/pricing models with an eye to repeatability, considering market factors and eventual risk & reward of offered pricing/terms.

  • Drive proposal development and manages proposal teams to ensure proposals meet all customer requirements; and follow-through on compliant and timely proposal submission

  • Lead and organize ongoing proposal meetings to identify and resolve problems and share information

  • Lead the assembly and production of a complete submission which meets all RFP requirements

  • Works with Finance to optimize proposal cost and pricing tools with objective to make tools more effective, common, and supportive in the assessment of pricing model strategies

  • Ongoing/timely support to various stakeholders (BU Directors, Program Management) as required.

What You Bring

  • A post-secondary diploma/degree from a college or university in Accounting, Engineering and/or Business

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Experience in proposal development and cost analysis, including FAR 12 and FAR 15 compliant proposals and subsequent reviews and audits

  • Familiarity with Military and Aerospace market and customer base is desired, but not mandatory

  • 5-7 years of related experience preferably in a manufacturing or high technology environment; or a combination

  • Must have superior Excel / Word and PowerPoint skills.

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).

  • Able to work effectively as an individual contributor as well as part of a team, ability to work with cross-functional teams, to follow procedures and use system tools.

  • A self-starter, able to work independently and manage concurrent multiple bids and proposals with dynamic priorities.

  • Demonstrated ability and resourcefulness in solving often ambiguous problems with little supervision.

  • Experience with cost/revenue analysis and audits is considered an asset.

  • Experience with Microsoft Dyamics CRM is considered an asset.

  • Excellent analytical skills to collect data, understand significance and explain issues; able to take initiatives and recommend solutions / process improvements.

  • Excellent technical ability, including ability to work with integrated ERP systems

  • Ability to embrace change with enthusiasm for continuous improvement.
