We are offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled Staff Accountant in Sheboygan County area. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in our team, providing vital support to internal customers and ensuring compliance with GAAP. This role involves a wide range of accounting tasks, from maintaining fixed asset systems to reconciling general ledger accounts, and providing backup support to other team members.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the fixed asset system and reconcile general ledger

• Complete annual Federal and State fixed asset reports

• Collaborate with the sales organization to gather information for setting up new customers in ERP

• Run credit reports to establish credit terms

• Oversee the employee credit card process and assist employees with credit card issues

• Prepare various A/R monthly and yearly reports

• Provide backup for the customer cash application process and follow up with customers on past due payments

• Analyze standard inventory cost variances

• Confirm that accounting policies and procedures follow GAAP

• Calculate cost of goods sold for spare parts and small kit sales

• Provide backup for international sales shipping values

• Prepare the weekly customer AR aging report

• Interface and post sales, accounts receivable, inventory management, and job cost to GL weekly

• Inventory reconciliation and reserves

• Participate in the accounting team with the month-end close process

• Assist with AR and travel invoicing.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a related role

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations is crucial

• Familiarity with General Ledger operations is essential

• Must have a strong understanding of Journal Entries

• Experience with Month End Close procedures is necessary

• ERP software experience preferred.

• Experience with Fixed Asset Accounting is essential

• Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred

• Must have strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently are necessary

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required

• Must have a strong ethical framework and understanding of confidentiality

• Knowledge of financial regulations and standards is a necessity.
