What you'll do...
Support Manufacturing Process Engineering activity
Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality and productivity (Zone / Section / Function)
Support FPS principles and Follow KUP and Operating Process while Engineering solutions
Apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products
Develop action plans as required to investigate and prioritize quality concerns and verify corrective actions on internal processes and supplier processes
Lead and conduct process audits to ensure process discipline is consistent with Vehicle Operations guidelines
Create process and instruction sheets supporting quality methods and processes
Lead variability reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives and best practices,
Control the critical inputs to the production process
Ensure compliance to Plant, Corporate, Governmental and Environmental standards
Identify throughput constraints and drive root cause improvements
Provide a robust response to production requirements and issues
Support of daily production meetings working closely with production team to drive all engineering actions across the machining/assembly line to improve JPH and FTT
Ensure process or product changes are captured using Manage The Change and APQP processes as appropriate. Conduct functional Trials
Establish and maintain line production process to meet required quality and productivity targets and keep documentation using 6-Sigma tools
Respond to vehicle operations concerns, and lead team based problem solving tools
Plan and prepare engineering projects
Prepare specifications and request of quotations
Prepare CIB projects to achieve SCDCPME Plant targets.
Participate in tooling improvements, layouts, with tooling engineer
Supports Maintenance Operating System (MOS) actions and team
Lead JPH Roadmap action plan.
Use and support the implement ion of the FPS tools, Follow Key Unifying Processes and Operating Systems
Participate in CPMT meetings, representing the plant in multidisciplinary team work
Participate in Employee Suggestion Scheme evaluating suggestions related to his/her production line
Provide process-related training to production team
Issue and track concerns and deviations
Work with WERS, CORA, CAD and other required systems
Drive DCP and capability studies/Control Plans
Liaise with Forward Planning and Manufacturing Engineering to co-ordinate changes
Purchase, commissioning, capability and debugging of new equipment. Participate in Machine Witness at vendor
Lead the machining of prototype parts
Liaise with Product Team, MEO, Production Team and suppliers to develop optimum processes, such as gauging, torque strategies, in process testing and hot/cold engine testing
Manage the development of processes through engineering and build to support Prototype program delivery schedules
Respond to Product Design running and Plant based Program Changes with feasibility, cost and timing, within a Managed Change discipline
Provide requirements for new model launch timing and metrics, such as PTR runs
Liaise with external suppliers in support of project work
You'll have...
Experience: 5+ years of aluminum machining experience
Proficient in understanding and utilizing SPC Tools (Q-Stat & Solara)
FMEA, PPAP, and DOEs experience

Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
8D and 5Why corrective action and problem solving skills
Lean Tools – 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, and Value Stream Mapping
DMAIC and DMADV (DFSS) Project Methodology experience
TQM and Kaizen Methods
Visual Factory Management
Ergonomic analysis knowledge and experience
Experience with GROB equipment
Proficient in Interpreting GD&T
Proficient in interpreting and developing manufacturing stack-ups.
Interpret and Implement NC Program Changes
Making Machining Offsets on a CNC.
Prismatic machining CNC diagnostics/Health assessments.
Disposition of Suspect parts – Char Function/Transmission knowledge/Risk assessment.
Strong problem-solving process. (Six-sigma training)
Tooling Knowledge
Tools and processes utilized in Prismatic Machining
Understanding elements that can affect tool life and quality
Gauging Process –
Zeiss – understand and interpret Zeiss reports
Capability, trends, Gauge R&R

This position is a range of salary grades 6, 7 and 8.
