Youth Advocate

DUTIES:
1. Provide crisis intervention and support services for minor victims of domestic/sexual violence.
· Provide crisis intervention, referrals, and advocacy services for child/teen victims of domestic/sexual violence.
· Provide services to minors residing in juvenile detention facilities as part of PREA response.
· Provide individual services and referrals for minor residents of agency housing programs.
· Provide legal advocacy support through criminal justice appearances/interviews.
· Conduct support group for youth
· Complete intake, assessment, survey, and progress notes through ETO.
· Participate in case management meetings to review client progress.
2. Attend forensic interview at Mercer Child Advocacy Center.
· Act as Family Advocate through the Mercer CAC forensic interview process
· Provide support, information and referral to non-offending family members.
· Accompany minor victims through any court activity/appearances/interviews.
3. Conduct education and training activities as directed by supervisor.
· Conduct prevention programs directed at youth audiences.
· Conduct in-service and training seminars for professionals working with youth/young adult populations around DV/SA issues and accessing agency services.
4. Other
· Complete all reporting and documentation accurately and timely.
· Execute ETO data collection program.
· Represent the agency to the public and professional community in a positive, professional manner.
· Attend staff meetings, in-service training workshops, and outside training, as directed by supervisor.
· Complete (10) hours of continuing education annually.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate degree in related helping field required.
Successful work experience with youth in human service or education setting.
Non-traditional work hours are required to conduct work activities.
Commitment to agency mission and core values.
Complete required agency training
Act 33 and 34 eligible/FBI clearances required.
Computer familiar
Possess a valid driver's license, insurance, and use of a vehicle. Travel is required for the position.
