Bristol Myers Squibb has been in operation in Ireland since 1964, employing over 650 people across a range of activities and business units.

Ireland is home to External manufacturing's global headquarters, the business unit responsible for the management of manufacturing contract operations (CMO's) and ensuring reliable supply of product to patients across the Bristol Myers Squibb global network.

This includes management of, and working in conjunction with, third party contract manufacturers and internal manufacturing sites. In Ireland, External Manufacturing has two sites; Global Headquarters based in Dublin 15 and a distribution centre in Shannon, Co Clare.

The Role

BMS External Manufacturing is looking to recruit on a fixed term Contract Manager, Supply Chain Planner, reporting to Senior Manager, Supply Chain Planning.

The ExM Supply Chain Planner Manager performs a proactive supply planning role and is responsible for ensuring customer requirements are understood, planned for and delivered.

The ExM Supply Chain Planner Manager will own all aspects of planning for the relevant product(s) within their portfolio.

The Planner Manager is responsible for ensuring that demand and supply requirements are accurate and balanced and the supply plan is maintained up to date in the BMS Oracle and SAP system and managed through Rapid Response planning. There are no direct reports for this role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and actively manage supply plans for relevant materials associated with the product portfolio within area of responsibility.

  • Prepare and maintain stock overviews for the relevant products including supply and demand requirements and levels of expected inventory on hand.

  • To work with Global Supply Chain Inventory Optimisation team to set targets for relevant RSMs, intermediates and APIs as appropriate.

  • To plan and maintain the required inventory level of starting materials & API as agreed. To plan for storage of the required inventory in the most appropriate location.

  • Investigation of SAP/ /Rapid Response demand & engagement with customers and Global Supply Chain to understand the drivers behind demand changes and engaging with stakeholders to align on demand requirements.

  • Ensuring SAP demand is aligned with actual requirements and engaging with internal & external customers and Global Supply Chain as required to resolve any discrepancies.

  • Review of any forecast changes on a monthly basis and preparation of updated forecast for communication to CMO.

  • Ownership and maintenance of accurate planning master data for all products within area of responsibility.

  • To plan and effectively manage the supply impact of any change involving a regulatory impact.

  • To work with BMS Global Supply Chain Product Planner or SCPL as necessary to ensure product strategy is understood, being adhered to and implemented.

  • To liaise with customers and coordinate supply planning with Supply Chain VPT representative to minimise the impact of supply delays, quality events, line shut downs, projects etc on supply to customers & engage with VPT Supply Chain leads & wider Supply Chain team as necessary. Effectively mitigating the impact of such delays on supply.

  • Placement and maintenance of purchase orders in SAP.

  • Provide input into metrics discussions and participate in metrics review meetings as required.

  • Communication of any product related inventory risk to ExM inventory control and finance teams in a timely manner.

  • Maintaining/developing strong relationships with supply chain counterparts at other BMS sites, Global Supply Chain and CMOs.

  • Participate in BMS Global Supply Chain meetings as required to ensure alignment on implementation of product strategy.

  • Lead supply chain meetings with customers to ensure alignment on BMS customer requirements and consumption plan.

  • Execute scenario planning and develop recommendations for contingency plans as necessary.

  • Responsible for compiling and presenting volume information as part of the ExM S&OP process.

  • Responsible for compilation of volume information to support budget and projection activities & providing rational in relation to the drivers behind variances.

  • To provide supply chain planning input to the SSC allocation process.

  • Proactively identify and resolve any constraints in supply through engagement with CMOs and VPT team as necessary.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of ERP systems, ideally SAP and SAP BW reporting, and related data analysis tools.

  • Knowledge & understanding of planning master data.

  • Understanding of BMS Supply Chain, products and markets.

  • Strong leadership & communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

  • Understanding of Contract Manufacturing Supply Chain Operations.

  • Ability to prioritise, organise and manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines.

  • An understanding of regulatory requirements and management of regulatory constraints.

  • APICS or related qualification

  • 5 years + Supply Chain experience in global manufacturing and supply environment.

  • Understanding of Supply Chain and Regulatory operations in a cGMP environment.

  • Rapid Response planning system experience beneficial.

  • Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Industry
