Abbott Tax Specialist in Shanghai, China
Four Main Responsibilities:
60%: Tax Compliance for Abbott entities in China/Korea/Hong Kong:
Monthly/Quarterly/Annual tax filings for all entities on time
Tax forecast submission to tax authority
Withholding tax negotiation/application/filing with tax authority
Monitor the tax related process to achieve both targets: ensure compliance and fit business operations
Annual TP documentation
20%: In house Tax Consultation:
Prepare tax rule based financials, Tax data collection to support TP review with Corp Tax
Address inquiries/provide advice & solution to internal team
10%: US Tax Reporting:
- Q3/Q4 tax provision calculation and tax memo
10%: Other tax projects
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
Provide expertise and assistance to ensure continual compliance with China/Korea/Hong Kong Tax Laws and regulations as well as policies and processes, including but not limited to:
Be responsible for VAT/EIT/stamp duty/other taxes filings of all entities in a timely and accurate manner, complete the group and local statutory reporting requirements with high standards under demanding/aggressive timing request.
Be responsible for WHT of FX Non-trade payment, including negotiation with tax authority, clarification with internal team
Proactively work with other divisions to understand business and identify any issues or improvements.
Provide consultancy/solutions to tax issues and implement risk-limiting strategy
Support monthend/quarterend/yearend closing and be responsible for tax closings for EIT calculations and reconciliations (with US GAAP)
Coordinate for tax audit if necessary
Responsible for implementing the SOX requirement and developing the SOX documentations for tax
Incorporate tax planning opportunities to further optimize tax position of the responsible market
Work with consulting firm, corporate tax and local business team on tax projects etc. New business, new module or new structure
Keep abreast of the latest development on tax regulations/rules, and identify any impact to company operations
Support the annual TP documentation and other related projects.
Identify opportunities and provide comprehensive implementation plan for big tax savings.
Involve in ad hoc tax related projects from time to time
Maintain good relationship with tax officers.
REQUIREMENTS:
Industry experience s :
3-4 years experience in tax in reputable MNCs.
Experience in big 4 firms will be an advantage
Position experiences:
Bachelor Degree in Finance and related discipline. Holding CPA certification will be an advantage
Good communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
Language Skills :
- Good command of Mandarin, Korean and English, both oral and written
Computer Skills:
- Good command of microsoft excel, word, powerpoint
Other Special requirement:
Mature, independent, positive and strong sense of responsibility
