Envista Holdings Corporation Supervisor, Scan & Design Services in Shanghai, China

Job Description:

The Scan & Design Services Supervisor for NobelProcera Services China is responsible for planning, executing and ensuring follow up of all processes within Scan & Design Services, China. The Supervisor oversees production according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), adhering to all quality standards, concurrently ensuring success of business continuity with the right level of resources available. The Supervisor serves as a role model and people leader for the Scan & Design team, demonstrating effective leadership and exemplifying Envista CIRCLe values.

  • Supervise the Scan and Design team as an effective leader emulating Envista’s core values

  • Lead Scan and Design operations according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

  • Oversee the planning and successful design of restorations according to customer specifications, from receipt of order to production-ready status

  • Design bars, crowns, abutments and any restorations supported by our services as needed

  • Introduce and train new team members; educate and cross train team members where necessary

  • Provide clear communication and direction across team members and functions; delegate work tasks appropriately

  • Report team production KPIs and ongoing team initiatives to Group Manager on a regular basis

  • Report employee performance issues or other employee-related issues to the Group Manager on a regular basis

  • Conduct annual performance reviews, drive interactive employee goal-setting processes, guide/mentor/coach employees, provide ongoing feedback

  • Oversee employee adherence to policies and procedures; counsel employees and issue corrective action(s) or performance improvement plans (PIP) as appropriate

  • Daily monitoring and communication of FIFO of production orders, scanner performance, delay risk monitoring, cancellations, and IT performance related to Webclient

  • Identify areas for improvement and propose continuous improvement initiatives within areas of responsibility

  • Drive continuous improvement/development projects and ensure team members’ engagement in improvement activities

  • Partner with other teams to reach NobelProcera Services goals and organizational business objectives

  • Participate and provide assistance when reviewing/creating/updating SOPs as needed

  • Ensure adherence to environmental policy and procedure as required by regulatory/governing bodies, including compliance to local and global Quality Management System

  • Support and participate in internal/external quality system audits; Assist in investigating non-conforming materials and customer complaints

  • Report system/equipment issues, non-calibrated measurement tools to Group Manager and Quality Assurance (QA)

  • Stop production, investigate quality problems when necessary; inform Group Manager and QA

  • Other tasks/duties as assigned by Group Manager

Job Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Functional/technical competencies specific to the role and required to perform the role

Critical Knowledge and Qualifications: (what the role holder must know; including any required general or professional qualifications/education)

  • Four year college degree or equivalent work experience within industry, manufacturing, or engineering

  • Minimum 5 years of practical experience as a Dental Laboratory Technician, Dental Designer at an Implant manufacturing company, or 5 years other relevant and equivalent experience in the Dental industry required.

  • 2 years prior leadership experience successfully managing people and projects in a manufacturing or laboratory environment

  • Advanced computer skills (proficiency with Microsoft Office, Hardware, Network); SAP a plus

  • Proficiency in English (Reading, Writing, Spoken)

  • Willingness to travel internationally according to business needs

Critical Skills/technical know-how: (what the role holder must be able to do)

  • Advanced knowledge of CAD/CAM systems a plus

  • Effective, clear communication skills both verbal and written, including technical writing of SOPs

  • Proficiency in all areas of Scan and Design workflows, including registration, scanning, designing, PMS, Co-packing, Inline

Critical Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in training and coaching performance for success

  • 2 years experience working with 3D CAD/CAM systems (3Shape, DentalWings, Exocad, Nobel Procera, 3D Printing) a plus
